If you want to judge how developed a society is, just see how they treat their women.

I have never understood why Indian society has always objectified women and that too for such a long time. Even after technological revolution, when the world is eyeing towards India, the perception of male towards opposite sex has not changed much. Females in India have always been subjected to patriarchal exploitation and their filthy mindset.

If she wears short clothes, she is called a whore and it is considered as on open invitation for sex.

If she drinks and smokes, she is called a whore.

If she roams around with boys, she is called a whore.

If she stays out late at night, she is called a whore.

If she talks about sex in public, she is called a whore.

In all if she does anything of any sort which is unacceptable to so-called male supremacist, she is a called a whore. And we don’t even think for a second before alleging anything against her. Even a whore is a human, although we have subjected their community to the lowest level in our societal hierarchy but they are still better than our dirty mindset.

I don’t understand, matlab Jeene doge ke nahi inko, saans lene doge ke nahi inko.

Dahej nhi laayi, to jala diya.

Ladka nhi paida kiya, to maar diya.

Girlfriend nhi bani, to acid fek diya.

Sex nhi kara, to rape kardiya.

Bholi ldki ko fusla kr uska video bnakar circulate kar diya.

hum insaan hai ya jaanwar ya usse bhi gaye beete?

We have made her a victim of rape, acid attacks, marital rape, dowry, and what not. We have stooped to a level where women is considered a mere object of lust and pleasure. Even after 70 years of independence, we have not been able to look at women without the prism of prejudice.

The question is why? Even after being educated, why she still continues to be an object of patriarchal exploitation.

Be it Delhi gangrape, Bangalore holocaust, Bulandshahr rape, every single time we have told the world that we are not humans and are even worst than animals. We are the ones who neither respect the privacy nor consent of a women and we are least deterrent by the law. Even temples of education are not left untouched by our filth. Young  girls, who have not even crossed adolescence are being raped either by the school staff or teachers. Jis desh me guru aur shisya ke rishte ko pavitra maana gaya hai, jha guru bhagwaan k samaan maana jaata hai, usi desh m, usi shiksha ke mandir me guru shishyo ka shoshan kar rha hai.

Is there no end to our lust?

A girl is first raped. Then filmed and made a mockery of in society. Ostensibly justice is given to her by forcing her to marry her rapist. If she resists, she is burnt. This is sheer nonsense. Doesn’t she have a choice? Is a lady a mere object of pleasure and nothing else? Doesn’t a lady have any integrity? Does marrying her to her rapist really is justice?

The saddest part is when the leaders at the ostensible pretext of realism justify the heinous acts  by saying “Bacche hai, Galti ho jaati hai” or “Ladkiyo ko ghar se bahar itti raat me nahi nikalna chaiye” or “Ladkiyo ko chote kapde nahi pehenne chaiye” or “Ladke jawaani me badmaashi karte hi h“. Unfortunately, we have selected leaders who hide their incompetence in ensuring law and order by such statements which are a clear indication of their misogynistic tyrannical mindset. Kynki jab bheed me khade hokar itni ghinoni baat kar sakte hai, to inka man kitna ghinona hoga.

In a country where equal rights were enshrined in the constitution for both the genders from day one, a country which gave first woman prime minister in first 25 years of independence, a country where goddesses are revered and worshipped since ages, the only question that arises is are we really good or human enough to live under such auspicious umbrella. Are we Indians, even eligible enough to be called as civilised because though we have evolved technologically, the trenches of our mindset is still filled with dirt and modern India will remain a pipe dream until we start respecting women in our society.
